Random MMA Stuff There are UFC Fighters that are smokers, and some who have smoked in the past. Did Chuck Liddell? Tito? If so how do you think this effected his performance? Smokers can dominate. What do you think?

Random MMA Stuff Close Quarter Combat Lesson From a Sniper
October 23, 2008 by Jeff Anderson
For anyone familiar with the objective of a sniper, you know that it all comes down to basically one thing…
…one shot – one kill!
And of all the considerations that go into this one objective, the single most important factor, even more than calibre of the projectile, is TARGETING!
In other words, even a tiny bullet that hits the right mark will instantly take out a combatant while even the largest round could simply “wound” your enemy if targeting is way off.
Well there’s a lesson to be learned here for anyone faced with a hand-to-hand scenario as well…especially if you face someone who is bigger and stronger than you!
You see, in a real attack, most people flail away wildly, hoping for that “haymaker” swing to connect with something that takes your attacker out of the fight.
Nearly all of these fail to reach their intended target…because there IS no real “target”.
The end result is a bunch of ineffective strikes…wasted energy…and wasted time when you should be ending the fight in a matter of seconds!
So take a lesson from the sniper…
Even a WEAK strike to the right target can INSTANTLY incapacitate an attacker.
For example…
* Raking your fingers across your attacker’s eyes will temporarily blind them (and they can’t defend from, hit, or run after what they can’t see)!
* A palm strike to the groin sends an involuntary “Oh $#%@!” response to their central nervous system and gives you a much appreciated window of opportunity to either get away or launch your next strike.
* A quick stomp to the top of their foot (right where their shoelaces would be tied) will instantly crush the small bones located there and remove their balance and structure, most likely landing them on the ground, unable to get up.
These are just a few of the many targets that riddle the body with opportunities for you to take out any attacker, no matter how big or strong, in just a matter of one single blow.
One shot…fight over!

Random MMA Stuff In yet another example of how Mixed Martial Arts is becoming ingrained into the mainstream fabric of America, the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization will join forces with The Topps Company to produce UFC collectible trading cards. The UFC has come to terms and awarded Topps exclusive rights to produce UFC brand trading cards which will feature present, past and future UFC athletes. The UFC/Topps deal has been reported to extend to May of 2011. Early next year is when the UFC trading cards are scheduled to be available for purchase.
Topps will commemorate all of the greatest moments of UFC history – from the very first UFC 1 event to the upcoming November 15 clash between Randy “The Natural” Couture and former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar, as well as future events involving Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, Georges St. Pierre, BJ Penn, Forrest Griffin, Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, etc. Legends of the sport such as Dan Severn, Royce Gracie, Tank Abbott, Ken Shamrock, Don Frye, Kevin Randleman, Jens Pulver, are also expected to be recognized and featured by Topps.
“We are excited to be working with Topps to showcase our incredible athletes on UFC trading cards,” said Dana White, the long time UFC President. “We look forward to having great success with Topps, and to giving UFC fans a product they can collect and trade with other fans of our sport.” -By Scoop Malinowski

Random MMA Stuff Okay I admit some of these names are pretty weak so I hope you can add your best insult/nickname to the list in the comment section. I threw this together real quick from a recent survey. With time surely I could have done better….. Most of the “city nicknames” are not nicknames; they are titles. For example, Kansas City is titled (or dubbed) ‘Heart of America’ and ‘City of Fountains’; it is nicknamed KC. People will use KC frequently in everyday speech as a substitute for Kansas City; it is the popular nickname for the city. So Please help this list out. Add yours or Boo one that is listed.
